Our vets recommend annual testing to better understand your pet’s health and stay ahead of any potential concerns. Annual tests that are recommended include blood tests, urine tests, faecal tests and certain parasitic tests.
All Healthy Pets Plus plans include the Annual Wellness Screenings benefit, which includes one each of: a diagnostic blood test, urine test, parasite faecal exam and either a heartworm test (dogs only) or an FIV test (cats only). Your pet can have these done at any time, or tests such as the blood test may be recommended pre-surgery, to ensure your pet is healthy for their procedure.
For senior pets, identifying early signs of disease is particularly important. Our vets recommend twice yearly wellness tests, as well as further types of tests to support your pet. That’s why our Seniors Plan also includes one each of a T4 thyroid test and a blood pressure test, as well as an additional diagnostic blood test and urine test (these are in addition to your Annual Wellness Screening benefit).
